Who we are
Pinfall: Bowling Stats is developed by Blockbrewer, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce no. 99123797). For anything about privacy, contact contact@blockbrewer.nl.
What data Pinfall processes
Everything you enter (bowler names, sessions, games, balls, centers, oil patterns and notes) is stored on your device. On iPhone and iPad, when iCloud is on, Apple also stores it in the private CloudKit database of your own Apple Account, so it can sync between your devices. On Android, the app's data is included in the Android backup of your own Google Account, so it comes back on a new phone. Only you can reach these copies: Blockbrewer has no access to them, has no servers, and none of this data is sent to us.
What Pinfall does not do
No account or sign-in. No analytics, tracking, advertising or profiling, and no third-party software development kits other than the platform's own store library for the purchase and, on Android, Google's text recognition for reading a photo of the lane screen (see Photos of a lane screen). No selling or sharing of data. The App Store label for Pinfall is "Data Not Collected". On Google Play, the Data safety section lists purchase history, because Google's Play Billing Library handles the purchase of Pinfall Pro (see Purchases), and app information, diagnostics and an installation identifier sent by Google's text recognition (see Photos of a lane screen).
Purchases
Pinfall Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and by Google through Google Play on Android. Apple or Google handles the payment and your payment details, under their own privacy policies. The app only receives the store's signed confirmation that the purchase exists, on your device, and checks it there.
Photos of a lane screen
If you add a game from a photo of the screen above your lane, the photo is read on your phone. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's own text recognition does this and sends nothing anywhere. On Android, Google's ML Kit text recognition does it, which is built into the app. The photo is not uploaded, not sent to us and not kept: Pinfall reads it in memory and deletes the file right away. ML Kit itself sends Google technical information about its use: an identifier for this installation, the app and device model, the Android version, and performance and error data, which Google uses to keep its text recognition working and to prevent misuse. It does not contain the photo, the text read from it or your games. Google's terms for ML Kit: developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms.
Email to support
If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you, and delete the conversation within 12 months after it ends. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your question (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
Backups you export
An exported backup file or CSV export goes where you choose, for example Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive, and stays under your control.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data from the app, there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete; you control all of it on your devices, in iCloud and in your Google Account. Purchase records are kept by Apple or Google; you can see them in your account there. For emails you sent us you have the right of access, correction and erasure. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your country.
Children
Pinfall is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. The technical information ML Kit sends on Android (see Photos of a lane screen) holds no name, photo or games.
Deleting your data
Delete items in the app, or delete the app. On iPhone and iPad, then remove Pinfall's data in Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage. On Android, uninstalling removes the data from the phone, and the app's backup is removed from your Google Account's backups when it is no longer used (you can also manage backups in Google Drive, Backups).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes are also mentioned in the app's release notes.
